3 Years & Counting
Three years ago, I left with a backpack — and February 2026 marks three years of life on the road. I’ve watched myself and close friends grow immensely in the last few years — at least four new babies, three weddings, and many more to come. It really puts perspective on how quickly life moves.
I currently sit in Santa Catarina, Brazil which is where I will be for some time until heading to a wedding in Aruba! The last few months have been strongly dedicated to work and fitness – taking a much needed mental break off socials and the news. Apparently, less scrolling equals more living. Shocker.
That newfound boredom and mental clarity opened up the space to start focusing seriously on lifting. Those who’ve known me for a while will remember this passion. It softened into yoga and zen for a few years (something I deeply needed) but I’m excited to feel the intense and driven character unlocked.
My boyfriend is definitely the gym ringleader, influence, and protein pusher – I optimize the training plans. After four months of dedicated training and eating, I am extremely proud to say that as a couple we have gained 37 pounds in the past 4 months of bulk phase. This is the strongest either of us have ever been, and it's been such a joy to mentally and physically grow together. I genuinely never thought an extra 12 pounds on me would look and feel this good, and I will never again be afraid of calories with proper training.
Tomorrow will begin a new phase — athletic focus, with Muay Thai being woven into out lifting routine. I don’t particularly look forward to being punched, kneed or kicked in the face, but overall it should be positive and I’m excited to learn a new skill.
The next few months will entertain continued focus on work and training, riding bikes to the beach, eating barbecue, living a slow life in this farmland zone, and focusing on quality time. Northern hemisphere summertime is when we head back to traveling, and I'm soaking up every moment of this relaxed pace until then.
In other life updates, the Italy house is still a work in progress. It’s officially livable now, but I’ve decided to redo the floors before heading back this summer. Fingers crossed it’s all finished by the time I arrive so I can finally start on the fun part — decorating! I’m on track for Euro summer round three and (hopefully!) finally wrapping up the house projects so I can start exploring listing it as a rental. More updates to come on that front!
Thank you for reading my life updates. Three years on the road & wishing you all the best.
